This study aims to explore the role of organizational alignment in cross-functional digital transformation initiatives, focusing on key factors such as leadership, collaboration, and the integration of digital tools. A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews as the primary data collection method. A total of 29 participants from various organizational functions were interviewed online to gain insights into their experiences with digital transformation initiatives. The data were analyzed using NVivo software, applying thematic analysis to identify key patterns and themes, with theoretical saturation guiding the data collection process. The study revealed three main themes: cross-functional collaboration, leadership and strategic alignment, and digital tools and process integration. Communication barriers, knowledge sharing, and interdepartmental trust were identified as critical elements affecting cross-functional collaboration. Leadership styles, particularly transformational and participative leadership, were found to be essential in aligning teams and ensuring strategic flexibility. Additionally, the integration of digital tools and streamlined processes played a vital role in enhancing organizational alignment, although resistance to change and the need for adequate training were significant challenges. Organizational alignment is crucial for the success of cross-functional digital transformation initiatives. The findings suggest that effective communication, strong leadership, and the strategic integration of digital tools are key to fostering alignment across departments. Addressing challenges such as cultural resistance, resource constraints, and communication barriers can further enhance the effectiveness of digital transformation efforts.
