Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of change management frameworks in overcoming resistance during digital transformation initiatives within organizations. A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews with 30 participants, including managers, IT specialists, and team leaders involved in digital transformation projects. Data collection was conducted online, and theoretical saturation was reached. The collected data were transcribed and analyzed using NVivo software, applying thematic analysis to identify key themes and patterns related to resistance management and the application of change management frameworks. Four main themes emerged from the data: Organizational Readiness, Leadership and Communication, Employee Engagement, and Technical Adaptability. Key subthemes included cultural preparedness, resource availability, stakeholder alignment, vision clarity, transparent communication, feedback mechanisms, employee involvement, technical infrastructure readiness, and innovation encouragement. Participants highlighted the importance of fostering a supportive culture, transparent communication, clear leadership, and employee involvement in the decision-making process to overcome resistance. Moreover, a strong technical infrastructure and a focus on continuous innovation were identified as crucial for successful digital transformation. The study demonstrates that managing resistance to digital transformation requires a multifaceted approach, incorporating organizational readiness, effective leadership, clear communication, employee engagement, and technical adaptability. Change management frameworks, when applied systematically and adapted to the digital context, can significantly reduce resistance and enhance the success of digital transformation initiatives. These findings underscore the importance of aligning traditional change management strategies with the rapid pace of digital innovation.
