Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of organizational culture as a catalyst for digital transformation, focusing on how cultural factors influence the success of digital initiatives. A qualitative research design was employed, involving semi-structured interviews with 23 professionals from diverse industries, including technology, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and finance. Participants were selected using purposive sampling to ensure relevance to the study objectives. Interviews were conducted online, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using thematic analysis with the assistance of NVivo software. Data collection continued until theoretical saturation was achieved, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of the topic. Three main themes emerged from the analysis: leadership and organizational culture, technology and digital readiness, and employee and team dynamics. Subthemes included leadership styles, communication, resistance to change, digital literacy, resource availability, and psychological safety. The findings highlight that a culture of adaptability, collaboration, and innovation fosters successful digital transformation. Leadership emerged as a critical factor, with visionary leaders who model digital behaviors and support innovation driving transformation. Resistance to change and insufficient digital literacy were identified as significant barriers, while transparent communication and employee engagement were seen as key enablers. Organizational culture plays a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of digital transformation initiatives. Leadership, communication, and a supportive cultural framework are essential for overcoming resistance and fostering employee engagement. Organizations must prioritize cultural alignment and invest in building digital competencies to successfully navigate the complexities of digital transformation.
