This study aims to explore the opportunities and risks associated with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in promoting workforce diversity and inclusion within organizational settings. A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews with 20 participants, including HR professionals, technology experts, and diversity advocates from various industries. Theoretical saturation guided the sample size, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of perspectives. Data were collected through online interviews, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using NVivo software. An inductive thematic analysis approach was adopted to identify key themes and subthemes. The analysis revealed that AI offers significant opportunities in enhancing workforce diversity, such as minimizing biases in recruitment, enabling personalized employee development, and fostering collaboration among diverse teams through advanced tools. However, notable risks were identified, including algorithmic bias stemming from historical data, privacy concerns due to extensive data collection, and disparities in access to AI technologies. Participants emphasized the importance of ethical guidelines, regulatory oversight, and public-private partnerships to mitigate these risks and ensure equitable implementation of AI systems. While AI holds transformative potential in advancing workforce diversity, its integration must be approached with caution to address inherent risks. Transparent ethical frameworks, regular audits, and comprehensive training programs are critical to harness AI’s benefits while safeguarding against unintended consequences. Collaboration among stakeholders and continuous improvement mechanisms are essential to align AI applications with organizational diversity and inclusion goals.
